I had really good luck using a sawzall. I cut the old ones out very quickly. In the end I put in the factory bushings with that need to be pressed in. Without having a press, I heated up the metal bracket until it was pretty hot, but not red hot. This causes it to enlarge enought that it is very easy to put in the new bushing. The Aluminum doesn't have enough heat in it to melt the rubber.
You will want to put in the new bushing very quickly. It will get tight in a matter of seconds. I would put a stopper on the back side of the arm so you don't have to worry about placement.
