let me tell you that anything with a SAAB can get to be a gid expense. if the car is $2000 plan on saving atleast twice that so any repairs can be made as quicky as possible. Help your son out with the $ if you can too. They are amazingly safe, but they have issues at times with transmissions and ignition as didi mine months after i bought it last year. They dont always like to start when its hot out. Bring it to a local SAAB mechanic and see what they feel about they car. I love my SAAB but at times they do get kind of expensive to fix. Just keep up on the matinence and dont let things go. If he takes great car of it, the car will last him a long time.
