Thank you for your reply! So far I did just that. He gave me the name of the person who was on the title & I did call directory assistance. It seems to check out have the vin number and want to do a car fax also. In my last phone call today to the owner he told me why so much work was done under warranty. His friend owned the car and abused it to some degree. I asked if he serviced it regulary and he admitted to taking it to Jiffy Lube! These are not very conscious Saab people...but what can you do.
The car was sent to a dealer and the service manger drove the car for 30 minutes and said it felt fine, everything worked, under the hood was clean.
It never got that $150 deep inspection. When he heard of the price he said I was steeling it and I could buy it sight unseen. At that point he didn't want to deal with me because of phone tag and his Saturday schedule.
He also said this car is a looker not a beater. I gave a $150 deposit by credit card today and plan to fly up and drive it back raher than having it trucked. Yes I can email you a picture if you like. What part of the country are you? I have spent 3-4 days looking going back and forth and being a compulsive about getting newer saab. Since you are in the business, I'm sure you don't have such emotions tied up when you by a car!
But for me I am in transition and preferr to find a nice saab. Could not afford to buy the wrong vehicle right now! When I talk with saab owners about the car they are selling there is a warm connection and they can tell me everything! I can feel the love they have for their car....and I know they don't take their car to Jiffy Lube if you know what I mean.
As A PROFESSIONAL DO YOU FEEL THAT WHEN A CAR HAS BEEN ABUSED AND SO MUCH
HAS BEEN REPLACED THE CAR COULD JUST BE A CONTINUAL PROBLEM? I HAVE A 87 9000s AND HAVE 149,689 AND IT RUNS WELL JUST NO TRUBO AND NO LEATHER SEATS!
