Uhhh.... hauling manure? yer giving new meaning to the word 'Frugal'
As for the lights.. Living in Canada I supposedly have the better lights on my 87. But there are two things happening 1)your lens pattern might be slightly different 2)your, and everyone else's reflectors are failing.. these are chrome PAINT !.. and heat/age causes it to turn dull and flake off.. this happens to every single Hella reflector sold.. often sooner rather than later... prolly your 'dim' light problem.
I can purchase 'Canadian' lenses for approx $85 each (+ taxes) but realistically I see no advantage to them, your mileage may vary of course.
Renewing the reflector is an alternate.. I have done these on my 900 and recently on the 9000. Using simple/cheap chrome self adhesive mylar.. available as 6" by 36" sheets at a RC model Airplane/hobby shop for approx $2, onw sheet is more than enuff for each light.. simply cut and apply as many pieces as required to entirely renew the reflector.. overlaps/minor irregularities are irrelevant.. as you will see once the lens is back on. durability 2 years and counting, and it's easy enuff to do again if necessary.
