the best sounding head unit you can buy for the money (I bought mine used on ebay for $235 including shipping). This is because it has a 20bit D/A (digital to analog) conveter (!!!) whereas ANYTHING else in this price range will have a 1bit converter AT BEST. BELIEVE ME, it makes a HUGE difference in the level of resolution and detail.

You can get a brand new one on ebay for under $300. You would have difficulty finding a HOME cd player with a D/A converter of comaprable quality for that much money.

It also has three high quality 4V front/rear/sub outputs, a remote control, green illumination that matches the 9000 interior, and a simple, classy look. It even has an auxillary INPUT.

I've owned Blaupunkt and Eclipse head units, and the improvement in sound quality with this unit is NOT subtle. Don't waste your money on flashy gimicks and blinking lights, put the money where it really counts.

ALSO - the Nakamichi CD-40z and CD-35z LOOK the same, but neither has the 20bit converter, so don't even bother with those.
