I have discovered that if you jack up the right front wheel when doing the fluid change you can get more of the fluid out. It is tighter to get at drain plug and filter that way, but last time I got out in excess of 5 quarts on a single drain. The car had been stationary in that position for a while before I got around to draining the transmission, so I am not sure if that was a factor. I don't think it was.

When you get the filter kit with the Saab sticker on it, you may see a metal o-ring that does not seem to fit anything on the transmission. Because it doesn't. It is not for me to ask why that's in there.

The factory transmission manual (excellent investment) recommends a lubregard product as an additive for transmission squeak. Other than that, there is no additive recommended. I have stood in transmission additive aisle at the autoparts store staring at the bottles of Lucas additive, wondering what sensory delights might be found in those plastic bottles. So far, I have resisted the tempation to fix something that is not broken. I am not sure how much longer I can hold out.
