As others have stated, there are a plethora of different springs/
colour codes used on 9000's. The basic suspension seems to
be the same on all 9000's - sway bay diameter, etc. However,
there are spring variances on different year Aeros. I think the
spring rates on the earlier Aeros were higher/stiffer than the
later ones and I think the rates on the '91-'92 turbos were stiffer
than all the turbos. This is only anecdotal - I've never actually
tested the rates, but I have experimented with using different
spring set-ups on my '92. It presently has a '97 Aero rear suspension
and doesn't feel as stiff as the original '92. Whether that is a result
of the springs or the shocks, I can't say. I've also used '98 CSE
springs and they made the car feel like a Buick - only analogy
that comes to mind is my old waterbed! I also have a '94 Aero,
that I'm presently restoring, and I will put the springs from my old
'92 in, along with a pair of Bilsteins. The whole rear suspension
(axle tube, sway bar, control links, etc) was taken from a low-mileage
'96 (17k) and I'll be installing it this afternoon - perhaps I'll post some
pictures later.....
