I made sure to have left the detector un-plugged while trying to start the car so I wouldn't blow another fuse. But it didn't help.
Unfortunately, I had no choice but to have the car towed since I was no where near my home. I walked to a nearby repair shop, and as soon as I told them it was a Saab, they told me they couldn't help me, and to take it to a Saab dealer, especially since it sounded like an electrical problem.
I started thinking it was the starter, but with only 55K miles, I'd be surprised if it was that.
If my battery was completely dead, wouldn't I had noticed signs before-hand that it was dying?
And what was up with the jumper cables becoming excessively hot? I never experienced that before in all my years of jump-starting cars. And these cables are fairly new, and have been used before.
I trust the dealership I took the car to. They have performed warranty work on my car, and they treat me extremely well there. They also helped me out with a tranny problem that completely dumb-founded them.
What will bother me is when I find out it was a simple relay switch, something I could replace myself, and be charged an exhorbitant amount of money to do the work and for the tow.
