The valve is probably staying open with your high boost levels.
Stratmosphere sells, predominantly, to the Audi crowd. I don't
think they're running the boost we're capable of in our Saabs.
Unless you told them you were putting this into a modified Saab,
they probably sent you the spring that's used in most Audis.
Get the 'blue' spring - I think it's the one you want. That valve
is very well made and will outlast any diaphragm valve if you're
running over 20 psi, which you probably are with a stage 3.
Piston bypass valves, if properly installed, will not destroy your
intercooler. They cannot make any more boost than what is
programmed by the ECU. An intercooler that fails, usually does
so because of the amount of boost. If you're running a stock
intercooler and getting over 20 psi of boost, then it is only a
matter of time before your intercooler is toast. The plastic end
tanks aren't designed for those kind of pressures over a prolonged
period of time. There's no adaptation needed when one fits a
new by-pass valve.
