You also need to be wary of the heat range on the plug. That said, I don't know that a different heat rating on the plug makes the ENGINE run hotter or cooler, only the plug itself. It's my understanding that a cooler plug conducts heat away from it's electrodes faster than a hotter plug, which makes it less prone to detonation/preignition (mixture igniting prior to the actual spark). Generally when you run significantly higher boost than stock, it's recommended to go to a plug one heat range colder.
To your question about ignition coil options, there are several, you just need to hunt around a little. That said, I am not so certain you'll need more spark given the amount of boost you plan to run. The stock system should be good at least up to 16-18 psi, assuming you run NGK plugs, and of those, most people seem to find the BCP7EV's work best in the 2.0l Ts. Some folks have had good luck with Nippondenso Iridium something or other, but they are mega $$$$$$.
If all you want is a coil as opposed to a whole ignition system, a higher output Bosch coil I think will be your best bet, and cheapest, too. Most of the site sponsors should know what you mean when you say you want the high output Bosch coil or 'Red' coil (as far as I know it's actually silver).
The key difference between a high output coil and the Jacobs ignition is that the high output coil has higher voltage - all the time. The Jacobs system automatically adjusts the spark voltage to the present conditions, anywhere between 15 kV and 40 kV for their inductive systems. I believe the majority of other aftermarket ignitions have a set voltage output, which WILL burn things out faster, plugs, cap, rotor, less quality wires, etc... Jacobs burns stuff out faster too, but not to that great an extent..
The key to the Jacobs guys is wheeling and dealing. If you pretend you aren't going to buy, they may cut their price almost in half. :)
I still don't like their plug wires though, they just do not work in the Saab head with it's deep recess, maybe they have come out with better ones....
Anyhoo, that's my schpeel on ignition for the night. Soon enough it will be time to change the plugs and rotor again and probably increase the gap to see if I can regain some of my better MPG.
