I understand you now, you've got done everything right that I can tell. Not the housing it self it still not aleto be pulled out becaus eit connected at the mouth of the unit which you can see from your point of view. If you look up in there on the LEFT side of the unit you may be able to see how it connects into the dash / vents and stuff. The box is just held into place because it SNAPS in up in that area where the two pieces joint together. Although you may be able to see some small plastic clips that look exactly like those that hold the 2 halves of the box together up in there as well(one on each side), still I don't think they're keeping it from being removed(the box and the vents snap together). When I got where you are, I simply pushed, pulled, tugged, cursed, and made alot of other noises before I repeated the process. It will come out if you pull it though. This has got to be one of the stupidest designs that SAAB created I tell you, such a pain. And I had to do the job 2 times because I broke the FLAPS at the mouth of the box when I removed it. I also broke alot of other stuff I think as well, but I completed the job and replaced the blower motor and it works. So that's what I cared about, still took about 5 hrs each time I went in there though.....a pain...
Let us know,
See Ya,
Phil
