Whenever rought running arose, I found it a good step to clean the throttle manifold. Somewhere on this board is a description of how to doit, and it's not a huge mechanical challenge. If I still had the car, I could rethink it, but swapped for a newer in August. It's mostly a matter of getting in there and swamping the whole thing with spray-in cleaner, then closing it back up without breathing any fumes. Be sure to put good squirts right down that little hole in the bottom--that cleans out the AIC (automatic idle control??) Starting is a bit rough after squirting it, but it helps clear out the pipes. Repeat a couple of times for best effect.
Another factor to consider is changing out the O2 sensor. Run a check on the BB, again, for good input.
Others may be helpful about the boost, that's beyond me.
Hope this is some help.
