My '98 B234R with the same software Davis has , when it was in my '92 CC, had only 20k miles on the clutch - and it, too, was prone to
slip. I 've never done WOT, 1st to 2nd shifts. Yet, it would slip in
fifth when I jumped on the 'loud-pedal'. Dr. Boost said to use the
uprated Sachs PP with the stock clutch, which is what I did when
I swapped the drivetrain into the '94 CS. When I removed the clutch
with 20k miles on it, it still had a lot of the friction material left. It was
obvious that the pressure plate was the weak link. Anyway, after
replacing everything, the pedal now is marginally a bit stiffer
and seems to release very low. I have yet to put a thousand miles
on it so I don't feel as if I can say anything constructive, yet. However,
I'm making considerably more power than 260 hp, I suspect - and
I've experienced no slip, whatsoever. The CC is lighter than the
old CS, by about 60 lbs. IIRC, but apart from the weight difference,
the car seems much faster and I attribute a lot of this effect due to the lack of clutch slip.
