When you say the mechanical tensioner, do you mean the version that has a side bolt you tighten to pull the belt taut? If so, there is no bracket pressed into the bearing. There is a bolt that goes through the center of the bearing and attaches the pulley to the adjusting yoke. Take out the bolt and the pulley can be removed. The pulley that works with the automatic tensioner is different and cannot be substituted.
If you have the shock mounted automatic tensioner, the bolt has a left hand thread.
