A compression test is only as good as the tester they are using.
You can take three different brand of comp tester and three different readings, spanning 50 Psi at least.
I use a Mac Tool tester. This particular one uses a schrader valve in the hose, and the valve is a spitting image of a tire valve stem valve.
BUT!! if I would to install a tire valve, the reading goes up about 100Psi.
This is because of the different spring load on the valve itself.
A 160 Psi reading on a turbo engine is perfectly normal, as long as all 4 cyl show about the same reading.
