What you need is the -110 BPV and they're rated up to 20 psi. Don't fool around with the other P/N valves. If you want to go further boost wise in the future, consider one of the FORGED type valves($120-$140). I just removed one of the -110 valve on my 88' and replaced it with one of these forged types in the past month. You can find those Bosch -110 valves on ebay for about $15-$20 or get one from one of this sits sponsors for about $50 I think. You can also find slightly used or new Forged type valves on ebay for about $60-$80. What I like about the forged type valse over the bosch units is that they last like forever and can be rebuilt and such. The Bosch -110 valve can last a while(2 yrs?), 'IF' you don't push the boost past about 18 psi. If you're gonna push more boost than that, get the forged unit.
Also, some of the idle problems you were recently having, I've had as well and yes a bad PBV will lead to this along with other parts that might need replacing including the AIC valve, Throttle Positioning Sensor, Dashpot Decel, and or course vac lines.
I replaced all that crap on my car in the past year and it's fine now, so hope everything works for you as well. If you're getting 1/2 into the RED then yes, you're probably making about 14-15 psi easily.
See Ya,
Phil
