Yeah that's it. It looks like a little UFO or something, kinda brass in color I guess. There about $40 I think. You can screw them either up or down to adjust them as needed. That little button on there should have some resistance to it, should take some effort to push it in. If it just feels like to flops around and presses up and down without mush force, then it's probably bad and needs replacing. Basicly when you pull back the linkage and let it go, this device is what brings the car back to idle in a very smooth manner. So, when you let it go, and it then hits the dashpot buttom, it should then settle or fully seat in about 3-4 seconds. If yours just snaps shut, it's broken. It works pretty much the same way that little shock thing on screen doors work, allows a smooth transion back to the fully closed position, and not to just slam shut the throttle which causes driveability problems like those you've been seeing.
