I am having a problem very similar to Shawns right now and I suspected it to be the inner driver on the pas side of the car. My car has a vibration at that front corner and the more boost I place on it, the more it vibrates. So I do think it's load related. Now on the highway, at say 70mph and if I get on it the vibes begin, but if I let off they subside. However I can also simply ease into it slowly and increase speed and it also vibrates more as the speed increases, and yeah it even does it when I go up hills and such. Last week I pulled the inner driver and replaced it with a new on along with the tripod bearing as well. When I had it all apart though I inspected and repaired the new parts with the old parts and DID NOT se any difference or wear on the old vs. new parts. The old parts looked as good as te new parts but I replaced them anyway. After putting it all back together guess what happened? That's right the vibration is still there. So it wasn't the inner driver or the tripod bearing at all.
I had replaced the tie rod ends, ball joints, wheel bearing, and A-arm bushings last summer by the way so those are ruled out.
This makes me think that perhaps it's a bad strut(wheel hopping)or that my wheel is bent on that front corner. I also have some creaking noises in that front side.
Shawn, if you need an inner driver I have an extra one now.
See Ya,
Phil
