Sorry, didn't mean to imply that it was a robust tranny. But I do believe that driving habits and maintenance go a long way in explaining premature deaths. Full throttle upshifts or downshifts surely don't extend the slush-box mortality figures, whereas lifting ones foot, a bit ,when one can 'feel' an upshift about to occur, will surely help! But, like Bill mentions, sometimes one can't help themselves when it comes to the 'loud-pedal'?
