Lots of opinions on the spring issue, even leaving the cost issue aside.

I think that if I were starting again I would settle for Aero spec springs with my Konis and poly bushes on the control arms and the rear anti-roll bars. However, my new Goodyear tyres (see above) have given me a softer ride than I used to have, so I'll stick with the Abbott springs – these give tremendous results on smooth roads and the balance is really good with their complete package of springs, Konis and bushes. It's also nice to look low. It's just on poor surfaces that I gripe.

Progressive springs: no knowledge but (as Gandhi said about European civilisation) sounds like a good idea.

I wouldn't change the front springs myself (too cowardly) and when Abbott did my springs and dampers it took them about four hours, with seized bolts etc., so unless you are doing the work yourself, replacing everything in one hit sounds good to me.

However, as Michael Smith says (and I think he's against changing springs anyway?) tyres are a major part of all this!
