sells one with extensions relatively inexpensive, I think about $30 or so. Also you may want to get their Gorilla lug wrench with extendable handle bar, two sockets come with it as well. I have the Gorilla wrench in each of my car, you can just put it inside the spare tire wheel well.
I have used 80+ lb-ft for the lug nuts and they seem to stay put. As Ari, I also use WD40 on the nut/thread.
I think the 9000 alloy wheels with the plastic center caps shield the nuts from road grime and corrosion. The 9-5 wheels however have exposed lug nuts. I am more worried about the wheel nuts on my wife's 9-5 than my 9000.
