Cruise control functions normally (I assume this system is okay if I can set cruise "on" and have it turn off by touching the brake pedal).

I think I do have an AMM (small black rectangular box with vacuum hose coming out from under it mounted against the false bulkhead on the passenger side -- U.S.-spec car) with the Trionic system.

That's the problem I am faced with: was it coincidence that something else went awry at the EXACT same time I replaced the O2 sensor and fuel filter, or is one of these two components the cause?

I happen to have the original O2 sensor saved, though it is slightly dirty since I had to retrieve it from the garbage pail before being put out to the curbside. I wiped it off best I could. I assume whatever is on it will immediately burn off from the exhaust heat, correct? I sent the first O2 replacement back to the supplier in exchange for another one.

I do not have the old fuel filter, however.

What is the consensus on performing an adaptation run after installing a new O2 sensor: necessary or not? I have done many of them with all of my trial and error drives, but I'm curious as to if it is required in this instance.

Joe
