Joe, since you brought up the idea of two defective new oxygen sensors, why not try to resurrect the old one which I recall that you still have? I have read that it might be possible to "clean up" the old one by spraying with carb cleaner then blasting it with a propane torch, which allegedly burns off the crud that is blocking the sensor from reading properly. As you can imagine, the sensor lives in a very hot envionment, so this may not be totally out of line.
On your other question, a pinhole leak of some sort may be allowing a rapid buildup of pressure before leaking off. An analogy might be a tiny hole in a bike tube - you can pump it up quickly, and it will hold some pressure, but the pressure leaks out rapidly. Just a thought, but not sure how you induced a small leak changing the oxygen sensor, unless you disturbed the plumbing to the intercooler while doing so. Didn't you have some propblem in this area a while ago?
