Get ready to replace your blower motor. I went through this nightmare between Thanksgiving and Christmas on our 1991 9000CD.
Symtoms:
Started out blower motor ran high only, changed the transitor on the blower speed controller board located on the bulkhead behind the false aquarium, it helped get control back so it ran high and low. Then it went back to high only before it blew altogether. At one point it would not even go off if the ACC was turned off....
Blower motor tested okay, ran great when connected direct to battery, but when I finally was at my wits end troubleshooting the whole mess and dealer gave a quote of between $1100 and $2000 to check it out and fix....I got on Quasimotos website and downloaded intstructions to do it myself. Bought the parts from eEuroparts.com for $158 and five hours after the parts arrived, I had a back to like factory operating blower and new heater core that had been leaking and what the heck sooner or later you'll new to change it anyways, so why you are in there, just do it!
