DI may or may not give warning.

Some on this board have reported 'missing' under heavy acceleration. Some have missing at constant speed. Many just stop.
On my '95Aero it ran fine, then just refused to start again. On my buddy's '94 CSE, same thing. Fortunately I had just bought a spare DI, and became a hero when I drove over to wife's place of work and plugged in new DI and started the car.
A spare DI is good to have to rule out other things too. When my fuel pump died, it acted just like the dead DI. Ruled that out. Also you get a chance to buy the DI at low Saabnet Sponsor prices rather than plunk down $500 at a dealer's on the road. Plus at 135k, I'm guessing you are living on borrowed time....
So buy a spare, pop it in your car right away to challenge the warranty, and haul the old one as a spare on trips.
