If you're having lumpy idle issues, I would think that's most likely your throttle body, although there are probably minions of electronic doodads that could be involved. Remind me, and I'll see if my TCS manual gives any indications. Remind me again, and I'll make a copy and send it to you.
Have you tried cleaning the contacts, particularly at the throttle body? That's been on my list for quite awhile. Perhaps that will aid your idle.
The key is, work with what you've got. If you replace your entire TCS/ECU combination, after you finally get it right the bumper will fall off or the radiator will spring a leak or the oil pan will crack, it says so right in the Haynes manual.
