There are two potentiometers, one for the pedal and one for the throttle body. Calibration of the system means that the car run it's rpm's up and down and makes sure the signals match. Have you tried a calibration?
If it fails, then one or both need to be replaced. I can give the specifics on it, but I've only done this with a ISAT and not a tech2.
The whole thing only takes a few minutes and may straighten everything out.
