One good idea is to unplug the electrical connector from the BPR valve that is mounted on the radiator fan. This turns your Aero into a Low Pressure Turbo and should knock about 40 HP off the engine.
A technique I've used to teach the clutch friction point is this:
1. Put on the hand brake.
2. Have the student slowly let out the clutch until they feel the engine slow and then push back in the clutch.
3. Have him add the gas pedal to the equation. Ask him to try to keep the engine speed constant while repeating the process of just reaching the friction point.
4. Finally have them repeat the process, but then release the hand brake when he reaches the friction point. The car will smoothly take off.
The next hardest thing to coordinate is the release-the-brake step-on-the-accelerator motion while letting out the clutch. Empty parking lots are good for that.
