Hey all! Following previous advice on discovering the reason why my '92 9KT boosts to the mid yellow...I disconnected & plugged the middle hose from the selenoid vlave [atop the readiator] and the electrical wiring into it as well. I took the car out for a spin this past weekend and MAN O MAN where did all that paower come from...what a kick in the pants! My car is an "updated" TCS car and upon hard acceleration with this setup, there is a somewhat loud wheezing/sucking sound coming from the engine compartment.
Anyway, 1st of all: I'm wondering what kind of damage this can do to the engine, and, 2nd: why can't I boost this all the time? I've had my computer "reset to full power" (whatever that means) and had the wastegate arm fixed and taken the selenoid valve off my '91 9KT donor car and still nothing. Because the car can still hold boost in the experiment, this means the BOV is fine and that there are no vacume leaks...right?
Please help.
