valve on the fire wall: Measure resistance when engine is hot, should be around 30 Ohms. Check also the second valve on the fender ahead of the battery. The other possibility is your TB electrical part. Clean the electrical connection. Disconnect the battery for 30 min and see it goes away.
How about damage to the main electrical harness when doing the heater core ? The CEL and TCS at the same time point to electrical wire problem. This is my best guess.
