Well, the last two weeks have been an adventure.
Couple weeks ago the clutch pedal got stuck on the floor and I pulled it up manually until replacing the master cylinder and then it worked fine.
Last week alternator failed, probably voltage regulator actually, but i just replaced the whole thing and problems fixed...
Today, first the electronic display stopped working, no MPG, etc., and the SRS light started blinking.
Any thoughts??
And then the clutch pedal started acting strange about an hour later.
All of a sudden while shifting gears the clutch pedal goes soft and it doesn't engage until half way to 2/3 of the way down. It used to be firm from the top, and I could shift with just slight pedal pressure if I wanted to. The pedal doesn't stick at all, it just travels a while before I feel any resistance.
Now, I'm afraid that soon there may not be enough pedal travel to engage the clutch.
Is this related to my clutch master replacement? Or a separate issue?
Car has 168,000 miles, perhaps original clutch and slave, I'm second owner from 133K and don't recall the guy saying he had the clutch replaced, just 'adjusted'.
On a slightly related issue, for the past couple thousand miles the tranny itself has been getting noisy, like a ticking that increases with speed and only happens when trans is engaged (press down the clutch and it disappears, no sound in neutral).
I had a saab mechanic listen and he couldn't diagnosis it, and I'm wondering with the cost of replacing the transmission, if it is worth keeping the car and spending the $ to replace the slave (and clutch while I'm at it) and/or other parts if the tranny is headed towards failure.
