You are getting only FM sound quality whereas you want to achieve CD/digital quality. Now I'm only playing the devil's advocate here. I realize that this may be great for some, but others don't want the extra equipment or the hassel of the power issue. I DO realize that the FM modulator would sound MUCH MUCH MUCH better than tapping into the circuit boards of the radio would. What the original poster probably wanted was a nice neat jack to plug his audio into and achieve perfect sound. This basically is not feasible in this instance and so the modulator would work better. I am only stating what others have argued, so please PLEASE don't yell at me. If I wanted an MP3 input, I would do the FM modulator thing.
