wound up with a 96 9000 CSE 5 spd. It had 90K on it then, now approaching 104K.
I decided the NG900s and 9-3s were nice but les interesting to drive and look at. Plus I wanted a "back-up family car" for trips where we don't need the capacity of my wife's Exploder. I wanted the room and the feel of the 9K, too. Plus I do a lot of longer road trips and I felt the 9K was more comfortable for me.
9Ks are senstive to maintenance (good and bad), so if you find one that has been well-maintained and then keep after it, it should serve you well. Just know what has and has not been done. The 9-3 and 900 may be the same.
I love Aeros, but unless you can find a clean one that has been adult-driven I think they are more of a risk. They just beg to be driven hard and not everyone treats them right. It is probably better to get a CSE, as they are probably less likely to have been hammered. You can also get a CS, then convert it to FPT. The lower power in a CS means it is very unlikely to have been driven hard. Many here have done this and been pleased with the result. I almost bought a Super CS when I found my CSE.
Do drive a bunch of cars. I looked for over a year and found huge differences in the various 9Ks I test drove.
Good luck.
