I replaced the pump in my 88T( which isn't on the road yet) two months ago after buying it with both lights on, hard pedal etc. I couldn't get my bike pump/tube rig to work well, so I pedal bled the system a lot, mainly because I was nervous about the pump running dry. Don't know if that was necessary but it worked out ok. I swapped the two accumulators I had looking for the best one, but they both acted about the same (8-10 pumps). I didn't swap pressure switches because one was seized and I would have crushed it getting it out.
I'm reluctant to speculate on your problem because I've only had this one experience with the abs pump system. I'd definitely try bleeding and swapping accumulators, though. Sounds like you've read all of Ari and Anders' posts. I learned everything I know from them.
Good luck.
