The TB is expensive. You can detach the other safety valve over the left front wheel well, in front of the battery. Same device, different mounting bracket, works as part of the cruise control.
If you try this, be sure to note/label where all your vacuum lines attached to the valve BEFORE detaching them. Connect this valve in place of the current one on the firewall and see if the problem is cured. If so, order up a new TCS safety valve, replace the other back in position over the left front wheel well.
Of course, if you've already put in a new safety valve, it really does leave you with either the pedal potentiometer or the TB.
