...you'll want to get the car scanned with ISAT or Tech II for definitive answer. I had a similar problem last year, and that was the TB, but it could be the pedal pot.

Unfortunately you're really not going to be able to diagnose this on your own from here. Also, remember that if it's the TB you MUST have certain commands entered via ISAT or Tech II both before and after swapping TBs to avoid damaging the TB. Based on my "think I know what I'm talking about but probably don't really" understanding of the TCS system, I'd venture a guess that the TB has a sore spot that puts it out of synch with the pedal sensor, causing the brain to default to LHM.

Sometimes these things can be made to disappear by having the system calibrated, again using ISAT/Tech II, but again having the codes read will give you a definitive answer as to your problem.

If you're obliged to replace the TB, I would think you may get lucky finding one used, or try the rebuilt route (don't know if that works or not). But you might not necessarily need to drop $750 into a new TB -- scan Ebay and roll the dice.
