I always had problems with c-d rotors...

As much as you might like the look, and as much as you might think they perform better than flat-faced rotors, the answer is that this type of rotor just does not belong on a daily street driver, unless of course they came stock from the factory and are paired with pads that are meant for c-d rotors (such as some Porsche's).

I had nothing but loud groaning and terrible brake fade when I had c-d rotors (Zimmerman). My pads (PBR) lasted less than 10K miles, and were already being eaten into the metal backing at that point! I also had tons of brake dust on the rims, and the vibrations were strong enough for any passenger to see my arms shaking while holding the steering wheel.

I switched to Brembo flat-faced and have never had a problem since. The car stops on a dime with no brake fade at all. At first I used MetalMasters with these and they were awesome, but I could not get rid of the brake squeal and there was too much dust being produced. I swtched to PBR Deluxe and have been happy ever since.

Sure, there are some people on this board that have had good luck with c-d rotors, but there are only a few of them. There are many more people that had nothing but frustration with them, and I wish I had listened to them in the first place.
