What I'm thinking....

I know I've had vacuum-related check engine lights in past cars, though I never recorded what exactly the fault was. In one example, one of the hoses had popped off the charcoal canister, and in another, I'd forgotten to tighten the intake bellows at the throttle body after doing some work the day before.
If it's not the vacuum leak, I've got to believe that the thermostat issue (car thinks it's running cold, or at least not fully warm, all the time) is tricking the computer. If the car thinks it's in startup mode because of cold temp readings, it will enrich the mixture. However, this setting would probably be expecting different readings from the O2 sensor, which instead provides readings like a warmed-up catalytic converter should, but trending rich. But of course, if the car relies on the temp sensor in the block, its readings SHOULD indicate a warm engine, shouldn't it?
Please tack a nice big question mark at the end of all my sentences, since I'm only taking a wild guess here. But it would certainly not surprise me to find that this is a symptom brought on by the bad thermostat.
As to the leaking radiator, I'm a big believer in watching it; if it never gets really bad, maybe it's not worth worrying about.
