problem is either DI or O2 sensor related. Fuel starvation will normally not result in an CEL until the engine is stalled. Normally fuel pump problems will manifest with a total failure or hard starting problems. Your AC problem is unrelated to your driveability issue. Fix the drive problems first and then the comfort issue.
Smile and realize that even a $300 dollar part from Eeuroparts is cheaper than your idiot mechanics, and cheaper than the first car payment on a low milage used car.
Best Regards,
David 9000CD Turbo
PS: one of the posters mentioned a TCS problem. I don't really know the ins and outs of the system, but I think it has a dummy light to indicate problems.
PSS: call around your local area to import parts stores to see if you can find a DI locally or if your dealer has one you can "swap" just to see if that fixes your problem. If your local parts shop or dealer has one you can be back and motoring in 30 minutes. The part is expensive from the stealer, but the import shop here in town sells them for the same price as Eeuroparts.
Cheers
David
