I see what you mean about the sheet metal screw connection on the driver's side of the false bulkhead getting in the way. That was probably the main reason why I could not get the blower housing out. I finally yanked it out without breaking anything (thank goodness). My only concern now is putting the housing back in since I really don't want to go through the trouble of taking out the driver's side false bulkhead (which would mean removing the ECU and right now it's at the perfect adaptation).
I removed the heater hoses since I'm replacing them anyway, along with the long ones that go to the engine. I replaced all coolant hoses except those a few months ago, so I might as well do these for a complete set.
Do I need to lube the blower motor or flap mechanism?
Any ideas on what to do about the blue coolant-soaked rug in the pass. footwell?
