It takes a T10 Torex to get the ECU cover off. Be carefull, there is very little engagement with the small screws.
Be aware there could be other components on the board that maybe damaged. If you have some experience soldering on circuit boards, you should be able to replace the transistor. The transistor most likely to fail is the one (of 3) closest to the ECU connector. It can be ohmed at the board to verify which is shorted. Scrape away the conformal coating around the leads before unsoldering. When reinstalling the retaining - heat sink clip make sure the transistor leads are not deformed. Touching up afterwords with some conformal coating would be a good idea. I can replace the transistor for a nominal fee.
