Just got back from Eastern Washington state,
vacation with lots of relatives, had a great time.

While there I drove a recent Sub Legacy and
Outback. Even on the moderate climbs in Eastern WA,
I was disappointed. They were a '99 and '04, but my
'90 9000 2.0l turbo was better - also liked it better than
the recent volvo 70 series with the turbo 1.8l I drove too, or the Altima.
And I had just as good or better clearance with the
Saab than any of the others.

As for price, you might be able to beat that, but it's not too bad,
but I was looking at a cheaper CSE with 75k on the
classified billboard a week or two ago - but my
daughter's tuition time is coming up,
or I would have flown out to check
that one out.

As for the transmission - 1) check out quasimotors page on buying a
Saab, and 2) click on "More from Ari" on any post from him and
there is a great post on checking out the autobox of a Saab -
I think it's from about last december (some "buying a Saab" or "what should I look for" thread). Auto transmissions are a touchy subject here,
depending on whether you have one that's doing well at 140K (that's me),
or you have a need to replace them every 70k (not me). The manufacturer
changed since '90, but they are beastly expensive to replace/repair,
so pay attention to your gut feeling about it.

I've had Subs and Saabs - I want more turbo Saabs, no more Subs.
