Your words have value and it might work. I must admit after all is considered, however, the no-risk, walk-away-from-it-now $500 offer is more tempting than spending $2K to maybe get an extra $500 at the end of it all. I should say that I am not emotionally attached to this car at all (I rarely drove it). How could I be? I bought it in July 2004 for $3,400 (after some discussion here), spent $1,000 right away (usually after breakdown emergencies at my daughter's school - fuel pump, battery), then another $800 after she graduated to get it in safe running order. And now this. I kind of think of it as a good buying decision but a bad car - luck of the draw.

FYI - the now working full-time college grad, with Dad's assistance, bought herself a 2001 Infiniti G20t 5-speed, which I negotiated with the dealer along with her (so she could learn) for $12K. It's a great car that my wife also drives, also hard to find, and we in our shopping just happened across it. While in the showroom, I was even tempted by the G35x sedan (heresy!). The M35x is even nicer. But that's a post for the 9-5 board.

Somewhat discouraged, Saab-wise,
