bought a 89 taurus sho used in 1992 with 58000 miles, for $6000.00.
It had warrenty to 60000 miles, ford dealer replaced engine mounts and struts all the way around onder warrenty. In the 13 years of ownership replaced ac compressor, brakes with new rotors and calibers, fuel pump, alternator, starter and regular maintance new plugs, wires and tires, now close to 145000 miles on car, still a car where every thing works.
total out on maintance in 13 years less than $ 1500.
Bought a saab 9000cd 1992 griffin edition slighty bumped in left rear $ 650.
fixted damage, new tires , replaced all the add on's under hood, alt, starter, waterpump, ac compressor, radiator + other small items, now have a nice car dependable with 152000 miles on it.
Expect it to go to 200000 miles as it is total cost in car $ 3000.
still cheper than buying a new car.
