Insurance wants to total, I want it fixed; rights?

1995 9000 CSE. Car was hit on the front end. Minimal visible damage to the car. Bumper had some damage, grille cracked, and spoiler damaged. Hood was not touched. However, both air bags deployed and both seat belt tensioners fired. Car was driven home.
21st Century in CA wants to total the car. I want them to fix the car. If I take their offer and retain the car, I am short fixing the car by about $1000 and the car will get salvage title. I don't want to take that option, I simply want them to fix the car.
What are my rights? What type of lawyer should I hire? Needless to say, they will be losing a 20 year customer over this.
Thanks.
