perhaps... you could work on a "replacement value" for the car. We had a similar situation several years ago. Wifes car only had 22K miles on it, was hit on the side and totaled. The money they wanted to give us left us short about $5K getting another Saab. So I worked both of the insurance companies. I got classifieds showing the purchase price for a like car, same year miles and all that. Got several sources for it, and argued our case. Got much closer to the money needed to get us, not ahead, but back to where we were before the accident (which we were 100% not at fault...).
