My 96's gauge fluctuates bit. Most of the time it reads low (7:00). Occassionally it reads normal which seems to be around 8:00 or so. I have seem it jump around sometimes so figured it to be electrical, and am certain as I have seen the gas gauge fluctuate at the same time. Seems to work better when the interior has warmed up, so I betting on a cold solder joint, which I will probably tackle in the summer when it warms up.
