I just did this last weekend and I highly recommend that you replace the entire driveshaft with a rebiult one from Eeuro. $90 and it works perfectly. I considered just replacing the boots, but the inner and outer boots and grease were $40, and since the car has 160k miles I decided to spend the extra $50. Best $50 I ever spent.
It was so easy. Just loosen the axle nut, piece of cake with a 1/2 breaker bar and a 3 foot pipe, loosen the rear boot, take out the 2 bolts holding the strut to the steering pivot. Pull the rear joint out of the flange, hammer out the driveshaft from the steering pivot and the driveshaft is out.
The rebiult driveshaft came with the outer boot already sealed and greased. All I had to do was clean the old grease from the flange and clean the splines on the pivot. No bucket full of solvent, gear pullers and circlip wrestling for me.
