...do cause a little vibration for me inside the car.
I noticed this for a long time under acceleration... however... i also had problems with my inner drivers for a long time too...
...so how much was the mounts, and how much was the drivers, is hard to say...
but i guess any engine / tranny vibration is immediately transfered to the interior as well, wether your drivers are bad or not.
If there is anything loose in your dashboard, you'll hear it rattle. Things like to jiggle in your glove box, and spare change in your dash cubbies will jingle. I move stuff around so it doesn't make any noise... but it's not that bad tho...
I also notice my clutch makes noise when i'm sitting at idle. wether this is related tot he poly bushings or not, i don't know.
Perhaps someone can help me figure out what this noise is... but...
When i'm sitting at a full stand still, in neutral, with my foot completely OFF the clutch pedal, I can hear a "rattle" noise coming from my engine compartment. Much more audiable with my window down, or parked next to a building like at a drivethrough window... where the sound bounces off the wall next to me for me to hear it...so...
...when i press DOWN on the clutch pedal, while still in neutral, the noise goes away completely, then i let off the pedal, and the noise returns.
It's more annoying than anything...
I've hear this is the throwout bearing on the clutch, but i'm not sure if it's "bad" to hear this noise, and the noise means the bearing will fail soon, or if it's added vibration from the poly mounts that makes the noise.
Anyways...
I've read somewhere that with stock bushings, especially worn ones... your engine and tranny can move SO MUCH in your engine compartment when you are turning, or accelerating, that they act as a pendulum, and throw the balance of the car off...
I'm not sure how much of an exxageration that is...or how much it affects things...
but... when i had my engine out, i figured, why not get poly mounts.
And honestly any vibrations i feel aren't that big a deal, it's still managable for me.
I have a short shifter as well, and i like the very positive feeling of my shifts. no sloppy ness at all, it's great!
I've convinced myself to save my money from being spent on new shocks and springs and just keep the system i have...
and if the sas swaybars don't harshen up the ride, and all the other poly bushings don't harsh it up either... or the strut tower brace... then... I'll be one happy guy!
I've also just bought all remanufactured calipers, and plan on getting ATE premium grooved rotors, and stainless steel brake lines...
So, new suspension, and new brakes! Joyest of joys!
