1) small check valve in PCV system. should only route air towards intake manifold, not towards crankcase/valve cover. blow through it to confirm.
2) all turbo ducting/hosing. make sure all clamps are tight on every big piece of plastic/metal/rubber ducting that boost passes through.
3) ntc sensor (incoming air temp sensor). installed in aluminum intake pipe towards top (driver's side). remove it and clean tip with carb cleaner, then re-install.
4) all nipples and lines going into/out of throttle body are tight. i'm currently dealing with the brass fittings popping out of the TB (due to high boost psi's from Stage 3 set-up) and am stuck in base boost.
5) BPV/hooter (bypass valve, not BPC) in good condition. disconnect vacuum line at opposite end/3-way junction and suck on it. should be plenty of resistance. if not, internal diaphragm shot. replace it.
6) all vacuum lines should be in perfect pliable shape. no cracks. not brittle. invisible pinhole leaks become larger holes under pressure.
7) O2 sensor starting to die? i was plagued with this and it took 3 replacements to correct it. remove it and clean tip with propane torch. reinstall with hi-temp antiseize lube on threads.
8) bad tank of gas? premium fuel results in ECU allowing turbo to produce higher boost.
Hope this helps!
Joe
